Yeah, I got the DVD set the other day. The pilot episode still rawks.
It's amazing what they got away with on cartoons back then. Between this show and Batman TAS, you saw more gunfights and child endangerment than you could possibly imagine happening today on network television. This was before characters were simply "sent to another dimension" to explain the fact that their asses are getting murdered. It's fun to watch a children's cartoon where the words "murder" and "die" are used pretty frequently.
Very cool one.
Would love to see what you could do with these characters these days.
And I very much agree with you about old cartoons vs. modern.
