Inuyasha Strikes line art

Description

Here's the drawing behind the Inuyasha pic. Not real exciting, since I saved all the interesting stuff for the Photoshopping phase. You can see how crappy the circle for the Shinkon Jewel looks in the drawing, which is why I replaced it in Photoshop. Otherwise it's just straightforward lines.

Sesshomaru has the weirdest costume design I've ever seen. I stared at it in that artbook forever and still wasn't entirely sure what I was looking at. The old Japanese costume designs were one reason I never attempted an Inuyasha fanart until now, I just can't wrap my head around how they function. Anyway I tried to make Inuyasha's brother look a bit more manly and menacing than the pretty lady he appears to be in the anime. It was all the funnier when I read that his name translates into something like "destruction man."

There are also slight variances between Rumiko Takahashe's manga designs and the TV show designs, both of which were represented in the book I used for reference, so I tended to wobble between the two versions. I wanted all the characters to look pretty much just like they should, except I tried to make Sango look more like the hot ninja woman from Soul Calibur, I can't remember her name. She's about twenty-five percent booblier now.

Very nice. You matched all of their personalities quite well. I read somewhere that Sesshomaru's name also means "Perfect Killer" But in most languages that use some form of kanji, or whatever, it doesn't matter what the words directly translate into, but more about what the words mean in general. So one word can usually be translated into many different words that roughly all mean the same thing. "Destruction man" and "Perfect killer" are sort of the same if you think about it. Thats the way I see it at least. Wow i talk too much. lol
