The final round of Senior announcements for 2009!

For me, flying saucers are a fascinating subject because they are a perfect icon of the unknown, and not just the unknown, but the unknowable. Is the believer a fool for attributing meaning to that which is meaningless? Is the skeptic a fool for denying meaning to the obvious? For human beings, coming into contact with the unknown can be calming, encouraging, refreshing, or it can be terrifying. Perhaps a little of both? I honestly don't know if I believe in fringe, pseudo-scientific, conspiratorial stories...all I know is I like them. So you gotta ask yourself; when a huge alien spacecraft lands in the middle of your city, what's your reaction gonna be? Maybe that too is unknowable, and no skeptic or believer in the world can tell you for sure.
Daily DeviationGiven 2004-12-11They've come back to see how we're doing. I don't know about you, but I'd pretty much be flipping out if I saw this thing land in my neighborhood. Return of the Gods II by ~mallaard sets the appropriate atmosphere to the confusion and chaos of this awestricken event. (Suggested by ~pretty-cool-huh and Featured by `halfliquid) |

That which you discard ... I shall thrive upon.
Those that you ignore ... I shall listen to.
And that which you wish for .... I shall already have.
