Space Kid 2

The reason for this picture was my 8 year old niece. This is the same one who inspired me to do the colors on the Ariel drawing many months ago [link] .

She was over at the house a couple of weekends ago and wanted a drawing of mine to color with my old pack of colored pencils, so I printed out a copy of the lineart from my old Space Kid picture [link] .

When I saw the color scheme she came up with, I was pretty amazed. Never in a million years would I have considered hot pink and dark gray, split perfectly down the middle, for this character's costume. And yet it looked pretty good on the page, so I tried it out in this new drawing. She also decided brown hair was better than blue, so I followed her cue on that one as well. I also realized there was nothing particularly spacey of Space Kid, so I gave her some spacey gadgets.

It was a total accident from playing around with my layers that let me come up with the look of this picture. It looks like a bad cell shaded game from the Playstation 1, and I thought it was freakin' cool.
