hm, did you by any chance have a sketch of this posted earlier? it looks similar ^^ anyway, I like this, your style is just so nice, dynamic, a good capture of movement. what bugs me is her arm, it looks way too long to me
other than that, I love this style of your inkings, detailed, textured, nicely shaded
I'd uploaded the colored version a long while back, and only just now felt like putting up the un-Photoshopped drawing. You might not be able to tell from the jpeg, but the drawing itself is only four by six inches, maybe a bit less. It started out as a small sketch that started looking pretty good so I just kept it up until it was finished. In college it was always advised to shrink pieces for reproduction by a third, and to never ever enlarge them, but I don't mind enlarging some of my ink drawings. For one, it's pretty necessary to do so on a computer screen, because nobody will lean in very close to see it, and also the raw sketchy wiggli-ness of the linework comes out and gives it a nice, natural etching look.
And you're right, I really wish I'd drawn that arm better, it's been bothering me since I finished the drawing. There are a couple of awkward details about her torso that bother me too, but I think I've learned more about drawing the figure since I made this one.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Please FULL VIEW all these amazing pieces of ART. Visit the artists pages and give them a :+fav and your support. Thank you for taking the time........
