Tinkerbell by mallaard Tinkerbell by mallaard
It's been a while since I've uploaded anything, and since I'm starting a nice four-day weekend tomorrow, I finally decided to make something tonight, just for you guys.

While we're on the subject of the big "D," I read earlier tonight about a new animated feature they're working on called "Rapunzel," which is supposed to be a lusciously designed CGI movie based on French Rococo painting. Hear about it? It might come out in 2009 or 2010.

Wow. I haven't seen this one yet. I dig Tink art and have searched this site for her, and this is the first time I've seen this one. It's incredible.

Thank you! It's been a while since I've tried a more realistically rendered piece like this or Rainbow in the Dark. Sometime soon I should maybe try again so I don't lose touch with it.

Awesome! The tire-tracks of pride have been impressed deeply into my heart. Nice collection of Disney arts you made, and big too! I salute you.

Oh, Tink. You've really emphasized her flirtacious side  I don't know if you've ever watched 'Heroes', but she reminds me of Kristin Bell's character- adorable, but sociopathically zapping everyone with lightning bolts

The colouring is so gorgeous. You have a great sense of capturing light, and using colour to your advantage. So vibrant; the reds in her skin look great against the greens.

Rapunzel, eh? Hmmmm... anything Rococo-inspired is beautiful :)

Oh, I've definitely been watching Heroes. My roommate's girlfriend kept bugging us until we started watching it, and now we're hooked. It was nice seeing Noah totally pwn Elle in that last episode. And I could see Tink being just like that, if only to get people's attention since she's so tiny. She'd be like an electric wasp.

Here's a site with some pictures from Rapunzel:

This is great, I'm loving those eyes hardcore. The detail on her face and body is great, you're really good at using light to define shapes. Awesome.

Also, I've been excited for Rapunzel for a while, since I saw the initial screenshots of it. They had an animation test on youtube that was GORGEOUS but almost immediately taken down. It's good to know that among all the dime-a-dozen CGI movies, some people are at least trying to reinvent the medium. I personally don't think anyone can even come close to pixar at what they do, so it's good that disney is trying out something sort of new.
Also good to know they're going back to producing 2D animation again pretty soon.

Yeah, I read on one article about the Youtube link, but when I looked for it I couldn't find it. No wonder, I guess. Someone said that they're changing their minds and making it a 2D movie after all, but I don't know if that's the most recent word on it. I wish I could find some pics or videos somewhere, I'm really curious now.

Ah, so cute! I've got a friend who is OBSESSED with Tinkerbell.

I love the shading, especially on her body, around the muscles. In a way, it shows that no matter what size you are, you can still be strong.
