MOVIES!

Journal Entry: Sat May 3, 2008, 9:05 PM
There sure is a lot of movie watching to be done these days! I saw Forbidden Kingdom a few days ago and it was cool. I saw Iron Man last night and it was awesome. Tony Stark is easily the most charismatic super hero ever. I only wish the movie had just a little more Iron Man action, but was otherwise extremely well crafted storywise. And Stark's technology was supremely kickass. I want his computer. And the Iron Man suit was simply one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a movie.

Tonight I saw Cloverfield on DVD and it was really intense, I thought it was brilliant how the video in the camera kept breaking up and slipping back to Rob's older video of Beth. Very clever story telling technique, and about a trillion times better use of the cinema verite style than Blair Witch. Maybe a trillion and five times better.

Up next...Speed Racer, which looks to be some of the sweetest eye candy since Ghost in the Shell II. Then Narnia II, The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones 4, and Hellboy II. And those are just the movies I'm definitely seeing...there's still a bunch I'd like to see, like Tropic Thunder and maybe Kung Fu Panda. It's a good thing I've given up on spending money on video games, because otherwise there would be no way I could afford to go watch all these movies. Anyway I'm sure GTA 4 will sell one quintillion copies even without me.

EDIT: Miley Cyrus better step her game up...

You'd better wear some protective gloves, 'cause when you walk outta that theater you're gonna be total berserker. Have some friends handy to hold you back and wipe the foam from your mouth. Maybe find a mall and work it out with a four-hour DDR marathon or something. Just some suggestions.

Out of all those I have seen Iron Man, and I thought it was pretty awesome too. I love the very last part of it. Robert Downey Jr. did a great job.

I'm glad we're finally out of the beginning-of-the-year slump. I want to see Iron Man but I've been busy the last couple days. I'll see it today. I'm also looking forward to Wall-E, Dark Knight, HalfBlood Prince, and Step Brothers.

Incredible Hulk looks like it might be good too.

Did you stay after the credits? I heard something happened afterwards but we didn't stay long enough to find out. Yeah, Robert Downey Jr. was fantastic as Tony Stark, easily the best version of Tony I've ever seen.

I can't remember if I've ever looked forward to as many movies in a row as I am at the moment.

I just got back from seeing Iron Man, and yes, it was worth it sticking around through the credits, because there was a scene afterwards featuring a cameo from a famous actor playing another Marvel character, setting up a supposed sequel. I won't spoil it, though I'm sure you can easily learn what happened checking the imdb or whatever.

I heard about something after the credits, but I didn't stay to see it. I like the way it ended, though.
